How to choose friends wisely

1) Choose your friends carefully

Do not make friends with a hot-tempered man, do not associate with one easily angered, or you may learn his ways and get yourself ensnared. Proverbs 22:24-25

2) Seek to become someone’s true friend

A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24

3) Good Friends will make you a stronger Christian

As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. Proverbs 27:17

4) Mingling with the world will ruin your friendship with God

You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God.  James 4:4

5) The Power of Two

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work:

If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Eccl 4:9-12

6) Seek friendships with the wise

He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harms.

Proverbs 13:20

Having read the above verses, i feel that the 4th one is a bit difficult one to follow. Its really difficult to avoid people in the world because we are a part of it. From the whole lot selecting few good friends is a difficult thing which even am facing like you all guys. I hope these voices spoke to your heart on friendship and would encourage you to live by them.
